iStudiez Pro Legendary Planner App Reviews

Just one thing to add

Application is very convenient and helpful! But could you please add an option to create an everyday event independent of courses (just like you can create one in Calendar). This option is available on IPhone and would be very useful in computer version

Buono ma ha errore

It is a great application but be aware that there are a few bugs that the developer already reported to be working on. I would still recomend the app to anyone,

PLEASE GO BACK TO THE OLD DESIGN

It was my favourite app, just perfect to organize everything, perfectly synced between all my devices. I just couldn’t have found a single bad thing. But this new desing for the mac version, it’s just horrible. Please, go back to the old version, it was a lot better and I already miss it.

Almost useless if you want to use it for both BSc and MSc

This app is indeed very good for managing the daily schedules and the semester ones but seems not taking into consideration that BSc, MSc and PhD exist and GPA can not be shered between them. I think the developers should include the chance to group semesters so one can use that option to set BSc, MSc, PhD and the GPA will be computed indipendently in the groups. I will start my MSc in september and I think it will not make much sense using iStudiez if it continues computing my GPA as it does now… I will not get a good idea of the graduation mark I can get in this way. It is almost one year since the first time I asked for this update to the Technical support but seems they are not interesteed in developing this feature

Essential; Could use a few improvements...

I love this app. It’s (almost) everything I’ve been looking for, all in one place. I used to use iCal in conjunction with the Reminders app to keep track of my assignments and classes, but the two didn’t work together as well as they could have. This app fixes that perfectly. I love how it supports multiple semesters at once (great for planning your future workload, especially as a college student) and I really enjoy being able to edit/add courses as the year moves on—you don’t have to plan and remake your schedule as it changes. The week-view of the calendar is awesome (IMO much nicer than the iCal version because you can scale the time view) but I do wish I could keep track of events that /weren’t/ just classes. Right now I set up a seperate course called “Personal” and I add events that way so I can view all of my schedule in one place. A few things I wish the app did better: - It’d be nice if there was a way to view your assignments on the calendar; I know they show up on the “daily” view, but having them on the weekly view would help me plan things better; I like to view everything I have to get done instead of having to switch back and forth between month/day/week to get all the info - I wish there was an easier way to adjust due dates. I entered all of my assignments for the year off of my syllabus and then had to re-enter most of them when my course schedule got shifted back a week; it’d be really nice if there were a way to change the due dates of multiple assignments at a time (ie. shift back/forward 1 week) or if you could drag and drop assignments on your calendar to change their due dates as your schedule changes. - I like how the app supports iCal integration in that it takes from your calendar and displays birthdays, etc. but I wish it was easeir to find how to import work calendars/existing appointments. Right now my iStudiez only displays the “default” iCal events. - As far as grading goes, the app does an excellent job of tracking your GPA/course progress; I wish there was a way to input your exisiting GPA/unit count, though, because as someone who started using this app after her first semester, my GPA isn’t as accurate as it should be. Overall: This is an awesome app. I’m an undergrad and I’m extremeley thankful I’ve found this. It puts everything in one place, sends reminders so you don’t fall behind, and has a really nice GUI and is pretty intuitive. I think there are a few small changes that would make this app perfect, but its pretty close already. If you’re still on the fence, try downloading the free lite version and go from there.

Very Customizable and Convenient

This app is incredible and definitely worth the price. I am surprised by how many options there are to customize the calendar and appearance, while still keeping the app simple and easy to use. After spending some time getting familiar with the functions and settings, you will find that this app can effectively manage everything you need to schedule. I can’t think of any improvements, except to allow creating a new calendar event from within the app itself. I know this is possible in the iPhone app, but for some reason I can only add new classes and assignments on my mac. For now, I just switch to my calendar app on my mac when I need to add a new non-academic event.

In short, a godsend worth every penny.

This application can do as little or as much as you want. It is completely customizable to any class setting. I love it and I have only been using it for 2 weeks. It makes college organizational life a breeze. Better than every other solution I have tried. $10 may seem steep for an app, but I assure you it is worth the investment.

Solid, but needs work

This app offers a lot but can be a little repetitive with some features, whilst lacking some essential features. Here are some suggestions: 1. Display assignments that are due on the "Week" tab in the "Overview” section within the classes so that you can better break up assignments and block them out leading up to their due dates, a feature that is already offered by myHomework. 2. Provide a way to set a deadline for an assignment (for example, 6 PM). This would be incredibly useful for college students who have papers and assignments that are not due in-class, but rather submitted online or in-person at a professor’s office at a later time. 3. Add an option to view everything in a calendar format (by month) in order to better keep track of deadlines for big assignments or exams and break them up. 4. Allow for multiple reminders. I have ADD, so I can lose track of time or stray off task sometimes, so itd be extremely beneficial to establish a couple of reminders in the days leading up to an assignment, as well as a handful on the day of. 5. There should be a way to add things like extracurriculars, meetings, and other reminders to the calendar so you can plan/structure your day and manage your time accordingly. 6. A way to upload/attach files to assignments, add hyperlinks, and format descriptions with bullet points or functional checklists to ensure you complete all the steps and follow all the directions. Also a way to attach the syllabus to a class would be quite nice. This app has many helpful features as is, but it has the potential to be really great if more are added/expanded upon.

Great app, have some suggestions

I was weary of spending $10 on this app, but I really enjoy it. It shows you neatly and color coded all of your assignments/exams for a semester. I like the different views and the scheduling capabilities. Some suggestions: Make it so you can change the status to “started” or “in progress” rather than just not started and complete. Make it so you can add times rather than just dates for due dates.

Good, but Shallow

The app is good at what it does - organizing assignments and calendars. It’s the most streamlined and visually-appealing app I’ve used, but by no means the most feature-rich (that would be iHomework). What is unfortunate, really, is the lack of attention to detail; for instance, it’s not possible to shift the day or time of a single class meeting, or to set multiple reminders for classes or assignments. In addition, there’s nothing in the way of project task management – no checklists, deadline tracker, notepad function for brainstorming – which is an issue considering that large projects are a major part of schoolwork. There’s not useful email integration (as, for example, with GMail’s task bar), and everything has to flow through iCal (a deeply frustrating app in its own right) rather than coming directly from external calendars. With cloud-based storage, I was hoping for at least some of the freeform, collaborative functionality in Microsoft OneNote. None of that is here. I frankly feel deceived by other reviewers raving about how you could “do anything”, “fully customize”, etc. I think this is a decent product, sure, and it will help me manage my assignments. But there is a lot left to wish for – this is certainly not the “one app that does it all” that I was hoping for. Reviewer background: MA student in natural and social science.

Best Organization Study App … but could use some improvments

I have been using iStudies pro for about four years now, and I absolutuely love it. It helps organize all of my reading/school assigmnets and due dates. The only problem I am having is that I see some room for improvement in some areas. It would be great if a written course description box could be added under the title of each course. I also think it would be awesome to add the option of having both start and end dates for some tasks, additionally each assigmnet tab should have the option to upload a link or document/file. I hope these can de added in the near future! Thank you! :D

COLLEGE STUDENT: I use this daily

I’m not kidding when I say I have no clue what I’d do without this app. I’ve tried several others and none of them have been this simple to use or update with tasks to get done. I’d highly recommend this one for any student and already have. I’ve been using this for 6 years now and each update gets better. It’s not perfect in any way but it takes the stress off of me knowing that I’ve got reminders to get things done on time, know when they’re due, and so on. This app is party responsible for my success so far and will continue to be used until “P.h.D." is attached to the beginning of my name.

Best Planner App I Have Found So Far

Exactly as the title states - the best I have found so far. I do wish there were a few more features (i.e., ability to set multiple reminders, sub-checklists for assignments/exams, ability to only get a banner notifications for items due that day), but it is great overall and would highly recommend. -MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Student

Wasn’t what I was hoping for.

I’d like an app that I can use on both iphone and mac computers, which this one was great at. However, I’d also like to be able to save a syllabus to my course and when I enter assignments I’d like to be able to add pdfs and other docs such as the rubrics for the grading and all of that good stuff. That’s where digital planner should far outweigh the options out there. At this point using a new calendar on my imac does more for me than this app because I can add documents and contacts to that.

Nice app but could use some additions.

I’m still learnng how to use this app. I’m still trying to figure out how to grade the exams I enter. A major issue I have with the software is that it only links the class times to your iCalendar not the assignments. That is a feture I am activly looking for in an app. I want an app that helps keep track of my grades and assignment due dates. If they would implement this feature I would give it 5 stars easy. Until it was a waste of 10$.

great app but !

Hello, i like this app and I’m using it for 2 years . the ARABIC transolation is very good but the icons is lifted so I can’t see the intire word ! I hope you fix it soon. thank you .

This app’s been with me 4 years. I’m graduating college next week.

I’ll be graduating with a BS next week. For the last 4 years of blood, sweat, and tears this app has been with me. Since day 1 of freshman year, every class, assignment, test, and grade has gone into this app, and it’s helped me stay organized the entire time. I’d recommend this to any student looking to keep organized and on top of their assignments on any device.

The update we’ve been waiting for!

Edit: The Yosemite update is amazing, the UI is beautful The Today widget is nice, which displays the remaining time less in class. There is one bug, however. The swipe gesutre in week mode doesn’t work. Minus one star for now, back up to 5 when it’s fixed. Great job with the app. This app is indispensable. I have used it for years on my Mac, iPhone and iPad. You can put your schedule in for your classes, no matter how simple or complex. You can add assignments, and each assignment has a due date, priority level, and can be sorted by due date, priority level or class. The app can accurately calculate my GPA, with custom grading scales for each class. If you are a student of any level, give this app a try. It has been very helpful.

Reccomended App by…Students!

This has to be the best app ever! I love all the updates that it has HOWEVER... I really miss that old original iStudiez App Look and Feel that it had. (Which is why I gave it 4 stars). Sure it looks nice, it’s functional but I really liked to have it open just looking at my assignments. Now it feels like any other application I have in my computer. But that’s design wise. Under the hood. It’s still the best app and even better with the notifications update. I was wondering when that was going to happen. Now, I’m very happy with the notifications of my overdue homework. Can’t have a better feeling that the feeling of procrastination. And just between the designer…Less is more…BUT NOT ALWAYS! But good design anyways. ;p

Beautiful update

Have been using this app for all of high school and I don’t regret buying it! Finally you guys did a UI overhaul to suit Yosemite and iOS 8, nice to know you guys still care about the Mac app. This app is what keeps me organized and up to date in my busy IB schedule.
